As a proud member of the Nantucket architecture and design community for two decades and a longtime Swim Across America supporter, Workshop/APD is proud to support this ingenious SAA program that fosters collaboration, philanthropy and physical activity. At Workshop, we strive to honor local culture and foster human connections through our spaces, a philosophy that extends beyond our work into our everyday lives as we aim to nurture meaningful engagements. We strongly believe in giving back and supporting the communities we work in.
One of our fearless leaders (and team captain!), Andrew Kotchen, has been a force in SAA fundraising efforts over the last seven years, raising nearly $150,000 for the organization’s efforts to fight cancer. Nantucket has been a second home for Andrew for over 20 years and Swim Across America is an organization he holds very dear to his heart.
If you would like to support our efforts, you can visit Andrew’s fundraising page here.
Swim Across America’s mission is to host charity swims with the proceeds funding life-saving cancer research and clinical trials and directly supporting Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s oncology program, which brings world-class oncology services to Nantucket, allowing patients to access much of their cancer care close to home. Similarly, SAA-Nantucket funding supports direct care and services on the island that provides care to patients and families who are coping with cancer, free of charge.
