For the steakhouse-meet-gastropub About Last Knife at Chicago’s new Hotel Julian, Workshop/APD was engaged to design a spaces that balance modern trends with timeless elements. The city of Chicago’s unique grit inspired us to embrace the building’s 106-year-old brickwork and select gently worn and patinated materials. A custom mural pays homage to the building’s original architect.
