Perry Street Pied-A-Terre

An effortlessly modern Greenwich Village pied-à-terre takes full advantage of sweeping Hudson River views with a clever, flexible design. Private spaces are contained within a central core, signaled by subtle shifts in material and ceiling height to create intimacy and comfort. In the apartment’s public areas, a custom corian shelving system and custom artwork help to frame views and focus sightlines.

To take advantage of the glassy, full-floor apartment’s stunning Hudson river views, we created a central core in the residence, programmed to house functional areas including the kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom, a guestroom and second bathroom. Each space is cleverly carved from the core, and defined by subtle shifts in height, material and texture, with concealed doors and panels that can be used to enclose and define private spaces.

The team also created a dramatic wall of open Corian shelving to diffuse views into the neighboring glass tower to the south, mimicking the architecture and framing its sweeping vistas while providing privacy for the residents.
